Phone & Email Support comes with both Labor and Postpartum packages at no extra cost. 24/7 phone & email support begins after deposit is received and I will be on-call to you and your family at 37 weeks and on.

2 Prenatal Visits

During the prenatal period, we will schedule up to 2 in-home prenatal visits to discuss various topics about your labor and birth plan including how you and your partner believe your labor support doula can be most helpful to both of you. If you have not done so, and would like assistance in preparing a verbal or written birth plan, I will provide guidance to help you create one.

During labor

During early labor, you will discuss with me when and where to meet. I usually need approximately one to two hours to get to you from the time you call. In the case of an overnight induction, I will meet you the following morning; unless otherwise discussed. I will meet you where you have decided: at home or hospital. I will stay with you from the time you want or need a doula throughout the labor and birth. I will use my knowledge and experience to provide you with physical and emotional support. I will help your partner(s) by offering reassurances, assistances, suggestions, and information, as we had previously discussed. I will act as a liaison between you and the staff, if it seems appropriate or necessary establishing rapport, I will remind them of your birth plan and ask questions so that you have the information you need to make decisions.

Baby’s first feeding Support

After your delivery, I will stay and support the family up to an additional 2 hours as well as assist with you breastfeeding if that is your chosen method of feeding your baby. I will help you with latching and positioning.

Postpartum follow-up visit

Once you are home, I will visit you for a postpartum follow-up and we can discuss your birth and life as a mother as well as any other questions/concerns you have. If you have not hired me for Postpartum Doula support this will be our last visit.

As a Doula, I Do Not:

Perform any clinical tasks

I am a Doula, I am not a medical professional. I do not perform any vaginal exams, blood pressure monitoring, fetal heart check, and others. Labor support doulas are there to provide only physical comfort, emotional support, and advocacy

Make decisions for you

I will help you get the information necessary to make an informed decision. I will also remind you if there is a departure from your birth preferences earlier discussed.

Speak to the staff on your behalf

I will discuss your concerns with you and suggest options, but you and your partner will speak on your behalf to the clinical staff. We will talk in our meetings why this strategy is better for all of us.

Project any of my own beliefs onto your experience

I made the decisions that I felt were best for my family. It is up to you and your family to determine what best meets the needs of your family. I feel it is important not to disclose my choices of parenthood because they are my choices. I will be happy to offer you evidence-based research links and articles to help you decide what you want for your family.
